Captain Marvel Jr. #40
In "The Boy Who Couldn't Grow Up!", Freddy stumbles upon a strange sight—a boy driving a fire engine from the station—and soon finds himself drawn into a puzzling mystery. When he confronts the boy, he learns the shocking truth: though he’s 25 years old in mind, he’s trapped in a child’s body after taking his father’s experimental youth elixir. Written by Otto Binder and illustrated by Bud Thompson, this 1946 adventure blends whimsy and wonder in a story that explores identity and maturity, all brought to life with the distinctive art of Bud Thompson on both interior and cover.

Freddy is selling papers one day when he sees a young boy driving a fire engine out of the firehouse, and he follows after him. When he later talks to the "boy", Captain Marvel Jr. is told by the boy that he is actually 25 years old, but he hasn't grown physically. His father had invented an elixir of youth and the boy had taken some. Now the young boy thinks like a man but acts like a child.
