Catwoman #5
Part of DC's New 52 relaunch, Catwoman #5 written by Judd Winick with art by Guillem March delivers a cover that pulls you in immediately — Selina Kyle's face fills the frame in extreme close-up, her goggled eyes reflecting the glowing, red-eyed figure of a menacing opponent, while ropes cut across her body and a smear of blood hints at the trouble she's already in. March's linework is sharp and intimate, making the tagline "In Harm's Reach!" feel earned rather than just promotional. It's a striking 2012 snapshot of Catwoman at her most vulnerable and dangerous all at once.
