"Tom Cat" follows a sports-loving feline who, after being turned into a coward by a bully and losing his championship title at the bull-fight arena, must return to face his fears and reclaim his dignity in the arena. The issue also contains two backup stories: "Goofy" features a humorous tale about an atomic rabbit being examined by a doctor, and "Egg Depository" depicts a smaller animal's comedic confrontation with a rooster, involving tricks with an egg and a chase involving chickens and other barnyard creatures.

TomWeepy

It's the championship game between the Holey Sox and the Screwville Sluggers, and manager Weepy is in deep trouble—so many injuries have left him with no choice but to use Tom Cat in every position on the field, despite the cat's comical fumbling throughout the day. When the game comes down to the final inning with the score tied, Tom must step up to bat against the league's greatest pitcher, but he's too busy chatting up a cute kitten to focus on the game!

Dog Daze
6 pp · Humor, Anthropomorphic-Funny Animals

A dog newly purchased by a fancy owner celebrates his escape from the farm by settling scores with everyone who's made his life miserable—a loud rooster, a cat with a scraggly tail, a pompous boxer next door, and the master who's lorded it over him for years. With pranks, traps, and mischievous ingenuity, he's determined to have the last laugh before his new life begins. "Dog Daze" is a riotous six-page romp where payback is served with style and plenty of slapstick.

Gopher FacePete Frimmis

Gopher Face accuses Pete Frimmis of being a liar after catching an inconsistency in his story about his siblings, leading to a comical confrontation about the truth. Meanwhile, a down-on-his-luck dog finds himself up for grabs when a new master buys only the doghouse, not the pet—until the barnyard gang decides they've got plans for him after all. It's a pair of tall-tale humor strips that prove sometimes the joke is in the twisted logic of the punchline.
