Crisis on Infinite Earths The Absolute Edition #[nn]
In "The Summoning," the aftermath of the Monitor’s sacrifice sends shockwaves through the collapsing multiverse, as the Anti-Monitor shifts his focus to the last three positive-matter Earths. With Earths 1 and 2 merging in a null void, the remaining protectors are gathered aboard a satellite, where an adult Alex Luthor shares the fragile hope that only the combined strength of five universes can stand against the coming darkness. Written by Marv Wolfman and Robert Greenberger, with George Pérez’s iconic art and inks, and a cover by Pérez himself, this pivotal moment in Crisis on Infinite Earths The Absolute Edition (2006) sets the stage for an epic convergence.

The Monitor's death unleashed the energy required to protect Earths 1 and 2, now merging in a null void. The Anti-Monitor is momentarily confused by this and instead turns his attention to the three remaining positive-matter universes. An adult Alex Luthor comforts Harbinger, explaining her mentor's plan was still working but much remained to be accomplished. The combined Earth's protectors are brought aboard the satellite and given the details of the cosmic forces at work. Alex explains that only with the combined energy of the five surviving universes can the Anti-Monitor be stopped.
