Démon #4
In "Les maléfices de la cité perdue," Arak and his allies press on toward White Cathay, facing deadly trials: healing Valda, blinded by the magic mirror of Cathay, surviving a desert of shifting sands and undead foes, and fleeing on a lifeboat after their ship is destroyed. Upon reaching White Cathay, they are captured by Angelica, only to discover Malagigi is the lost king. With the fate of the realm hanging in the balance, Arak and Malagigi journey to a hidden underworld to awaken the ancient demon Gog—whose release may be the only way to stop Angelica. Written by Roy Thomas and Dann Thomas, with dynamic art by Adrian Gonzales and inks by Alfredo Alcala, and a striking cover by Gonzales and Alcala, this 1985 French release delivers mythic stakes and relentless momentum.
