The crossover mini-series from Dynamite Entertainment reaches its fourth and final issue with a George Pérez cover that crackles with kinetic energy — Ash, chainsaw roaring in hand, leaps alongside a cloaked Darkman above a seething mass of Deadite creatures clawing upward from below. Pérez's densely packed composition captures both heroes in full motion, outnumbered but undaunted, with the grasping horde threatening to swallow them whole. With Kurt Busiek and Roger Stern scripting and James Fry on interior art, this 2007 closer delivers the kind of pulpy, big-swing genre mash-up that makes crossovers genuinely fun.
