Deathblow #5
Deathblow #5 (1994) delivers a tense, character-driven chapter in the series' gritty saga, with Brandon Choi and Jim Lee scripting a story where Michael faces a terminal diagnosis while the Catholic Church hunts him for killing a priest. As Gaby and the police close in on a serial killer preying on young boys, Michael is ambushed by three assassins in a bar—only to turn the tables in a brutal, no-holds-barred showdown. Tim Sale’s stark, atmospheric art and Joe Chiodo, Linda Medley, and Digital Chameleon’s moody coloring heighten the tension, while Jim Lee’s cover pencils and inks capture the issue’s dark, high-stakes energy.
