About the series
In the gritty, early Image era, Deathblow (1993–1996) followed the scarred, world-weary covert operative Cole Cash, a man haunted by his violent past and a mysterious bullet lodged in his brain. Over 30 issues, the series blended paramilitary action with psychological horror, as Cash—sometimes going by the codename Deathblow—confronted conspiracies, monsters, and his own fractured memories. Written primarily by Brandon Choi, Jim Lee, and Tom Joyner, with art from Tim Sale, Trevor Scott, and Mel Rubi, it carved a darker, more introspective corner of the WildStorm universe, standing apart from the bombast of its super-powered peers.
