In "In der Gewalt von Dr. Unheil," Dr. Doom hatches a cunning plan to lure Spider-Man into aiding him against the Fantastic Four—only to turn on him when Spider-Man refuses. When Flash Thompson dons a Spider-Man costume for a prank, Dr. Doom mistakes him for the real web-slinger and captures him, forcing the genuine Spider-Man to come to his rescue. Written by Stan Lee and Sybille van Geem, with art and inks by Steve Ditko and colors by Stan Goldberg, this 1974 issue features a classic mix of deception and heroism, all rendered in Ditko’s signature style. The cover, also by Ditko, captures the tension with its sharp, dramatic lines.
