District X #11
In "Underground 5 of 6," Izzy’s focus wavers during a tense stakeout, letting the Worm slip past—only to freeze when he realizes he can’t bring himself to fire. His personal life unravels as his wife kicks him out after a heated argument with his son, forcing him to retreat into the underground tunnels with Bishop. There, they find Melek has split his followers, and as they lead the remaining Tunnel Rats toward safety, Nemesio arrives with a warning: Melek is under attack by the Worm. Written by David Hine and illustrated by Lan Medina, with colors by Digital Rainbow and letters by Richard Starkings, Jimmy Betancourt, and Comicraft, the cover by Tom Raney captures the claustrophobic dread of the underground world.

Izzy has been talking to his girlfriend on the phone during a stakeout and fails to notice the Worm attacking Bishop. When the Worm makes his escape, Izzy gets him in his sights but finds that he can't shoot the creature. Things get even worse when Izzy antagonizes his son to the point where his wife kicks him out. Izzy and Bishop enter the underground tunnels to discover that Melek has taken half of his followers deeper underground. As they are leading the rest of the Tunnel Rats up to the surface, Nemesio catches up to them and tells them Melek is being attacked by the Worm.
