Tom Raney

Tom Raney is an American comic book artist whose career spans more than three decades of work across Marvel, DC, and Image Comics. Born in 1960, he broke into the industry around 1989 and built a reputation as a reliable, versatile penciler capable of handling both team books and action-heavy cosmic narratives.

Raney made an early mark at Image Comics on titles such as Stormwatch and DV8, helping to define the look of those WildStorm-era superhero stories. His work for Marvel includes runs on Alpha Flight, Ultimate X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men, as well as the cosmic crossover event Annihilation: Conquest. At DC, he contributed to Outsiders, Green Lantern, Avengers Academy, and the science-fiction anthology Threshold, demonstrating a consistent ability to adapt his style to a wide range of genre demands.
