Few covers from 1969 capture the sheer scale of Marvel's mystical universe quite like this one. The cover by Steve Ditko and Herb Trimpe places a comparatively tiny Doctor Strange — red Cloak of Levitation billowing as he soars over a photographic New York City skyline — against the towering cosmic entity Eternity, whose entire body is rendered as a living universe filled with planets, stars, and celestial rings. Roy Thomas writes and Gene Colan pencils the interior, with Tom Palmer on both inks and colors, making this a genuinely accomplished creative team for a story that promises confrontation on a truly infinite scale.
