Excalibur #47

Feb 1992 · Marvel · 1.75 USD; 2.15 CAD; 0.95 GBP
“Come One and All to the Ugly Bug-Eyed Monster Ball”

In "Come One and All to the Ugly Bug-Eyed Monster Ball," Alan Davis crafts a pivotal moment as Brian confronts Roma about her hidden hand in Excalibur’s struggles, finally breaking the curse that’s plagued him. Meanwhile, Kurt and Kylun forge an unexpected bond with the alien Cerise, the Technet rides off with enigmatic space travelers, and the rest of the team reunites at the lighthouse for a long-overdue catch-up. The issue’s sharp writing and dynamic art by Davis, with inks by Mark Farmer and colors by Glynis Oliver, bring both emotional weight and whimsy to a story that balances introspection with the series’ signature otherworldly charm. Cover by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer captures the surreal tone perfectly.

Brian confronts Roma about her manipulation of Excalibur (thus giving us a neat synopsis of the series to this point) and gets her to remove the "blunder jinx" she has placed on him which has caused him to mess things up in the past. Kurt and Kylun meet and befriend the alien Cerise. The Technet hitches a ride home with some passing aliens. Most of Excalibur, minus Kitty, reunite at the lighthouse and catch up.
