Jun 2001 · Image · 2.95 USD

In *Fathom: Killian's Tide* #2, writer Michael Turner and Bill O'Neil deliver a tense escalation as Killian and his faction of surface-dwelling dissidents turn their fury toward human targets, beginning with small fishing vessels. After learning his parents were murdered by humans, Killian’s resolve hardens, leading him to launch a brutal assault on the military base responsible for the destruction of Marielle—pushing Anya to confront the man she once trusted. Talent Caldwell’s dynamic art, enhanced by Jason Gorder’s inks and Peter Steigerwald’s vivid coloring, brings the growing conflict to life, while the cover by Caldwell and Gorder captures the storm brewing beneath the surface.

Sear, Killian and their band of dissidents continue to attack humans of the surface world, mostly by destroying small fishing boats. Anya's father meets with Killian and promises to equip his band with better weapons. He also tells Killian that humans killed his parents. Enraged by this knowledge, Killian takes over the dissidents and decides it is time to pick a more high profile target for their next attack. Invading the base that deployed the bomb which destroyed Marielle, Killian savagely kills the humans he encounters. Sickened by this change in the man she loves, Anya leaves Killian.
