"Billion Dollar Question" follows Captain James Pearson and Admiral Joseph Q. Brady as they welcome General Tse Chun, an aging Chinese War Lord, aboard the aircraft carrier Centerway to demonstrate American naval and air power. When a covert military objective is revealed—to level the enemy city of Sanpung and its supply depots—the mission proceeds with planes dropping demolition bombs and a new type of incendiary jelly. A pilot carrying a vaccine crashes behind enemy lines, where guerrilla soldiers attempt to intercept it; a sympathetic chaplain aids a dying soldier, comforting him with faith and delivering his final letter to his sweetheart before the soldier succumbs to his wounds.
