During Operation Mop-Up, soldiers discover they've walked into a booby trap while advancing through an enemy-held town. In "Booby Trap," a soldier recounts his harrowing experience during a frontal assault on Yongdongjiu, where his squad suffered heavy casualties from entrenched machine-gun positions and he nearly fell victim to a grenade trap before being rescued by an older soldier named Fauntleroy. After being wounded and recovering in a hospital, Fauntleroy reveals to the narrator that he has a guilty conscience, having accidentally caused the grenade that wounded the narrator and earning himself a Bronze Star and Purple Heart under false pretenses.
