G.I. Joe, a Real American Hero #79
In "Dreadnoks Rule!", the G.I. Joe team launches a high-stakes surveillance operation in New Jersey, tracking the Dreadnoks after their arrival at the Cobra Consulate in New York. When a hidden bug on a satellite exposes their presence, the Joes move in—only to face the Dreadnoks head-on after they steal a case of anti-tank missiles from a military convoy, leaving Junkyard wounded in the aftermath. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Marshall Rogers, with inks by Randy Emberlin and colors by Bob Sharen, this 1988 Marvel classic features a tense, action-packed showdown that keeps the stakes high. The cover, by Ron Wagner and Bob McLeod, captures the intensity of the moment.

In New Jersey, the Joes begin surveillance on the Dreadnoks after they had landed at the Cobra Consulate in New York. In between, the Joes surveillance has been scratched at the consulate after a Tele-Viper discovers a hidden bug on one of their satellites at the consulate. The Joes confront the Dreadnoks minus Zartan, Zarana, and Zandar (busy elsewhere at a hotel working one of Cobra's real estate scams) after the Dreadnoks steal a case containing anti-tank missiles from a military convoy, and Junkyard is injured in the process.
