Gamma la bombe qui a créé Hulk #[1]
"La naissance de Hulk" presents a pivotal moment in the Hulk’s origin, reimagined through the dynamic collaboration of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers, with Stan Goldberg’s vibrant colors bringing the transformation to life. The story follows Rick as he manipulates the Hulk into a test rocket, only to face the consequences when Ross’s deception leaves the green giant permanently altered—trapped in his monstrous form and bound to Rick’s consciousness. The cover by Rich Buckler and Ernie Chan captures the explosive tension of the moment, a 60-cent comic in 1979 that remains a standout in the character’s early history.

The military captures Rick and Ross convinces him that they need the Hulk to test a new experimental rocket for national security. Rick tricks the jade giant into the capsule but once it is shot into space, he realizes that Ross deceived him to get rid of his foe. Rick overrides the programming and returns the rocket to earth but not before Banner (he transformed back to his human form when the rocket came into view of the sun) is doused with further radiation. The Hulk is now unable to revert to his human form and is under Rick's control but only while Rick remains awake.
