“A Firm Grip on Reality!”

In "A Firm Grip on Reality!", the Gen 13 team races to uncover the truth behind Grunge’s missing hand, leading them into the heart of Tindalos Tech. There, they find the once-disabled professor transformed by Grunge’s DNA—now a gen-active threat whose power is tied directly to the missing limb. Written by John Arcudi and brought to life with dynamic art by Gary Frank, inks by Cam Smith, and vivid colors by Martin Jimenez and Wildstorm FX, this 1998 issue delivers a high-stakes showdown with a twist rooted in identity and biology. The cover, also by Gary Frank and Cam Smith, captures the tension perfectly.

Lynch turns Isaiah over to Cole at the Wildcats complex. The team invades Tindalos Tech looking for Grunge's missing hand. They discover that Tindalos has injected himself with Grunge's DNA which has transformed the physically disabled professor into a gen-active powerhouse. Since Grunge's genetic material is powering Tindalos, it is Grunge who is able to beat him (and he gets his hand back too).
