Girl Confessions #23
In "The Long Engagement," Laura takes a chance on Roy, a former convict now working as a real estate salesman, and their professional connection sparks something deeper. As Roy shares the painful truth about his past and his lost love, Laura finds herself drawn to him in ways she didn’t expect. A heartfelt moment unfolds when Roy, engaged to another, still declares Laura his true love—setting the stage for a quiet but powerful emotional turn. The story is illustrated by Morris Weiss, with the cover by Al Hartley, and stands as a poignant slice of 1953 romance from a lesser-known corner of Marvel’s early years.
