“The Lonely Nights”

In "The Lonely Nights," a 1953 issue of Girl Confessions, Bill finds himself caught between two sisters—Betty, the girl he truly loves, and her younger sister Judy, whom he dismisses as a spoiled brat. When he slips Betty a note confessing his feelings, Judy intercepts it, setting off a quiet chain of misunderstandings that tests his heart and loyalty. With Ben Brown’s art and David Gantz’s inks bringing the emotional tension to life, and Al Hartley’s cover capturing the story’s bittersweet mood, this issue offers a poignant look at love, deception, and second chances.

Bill dates Betty’s younger sister Judy, but considers her “a spoiled brat” and “brazen flirt.” He’s really in love with Betty, and had slipped her a note to that effect on the first night they met. Judy intercepted the note so she could have a shot at Bill. Since Judy isn't really heart-broken that Bill doesn’t love her, Betty and Bill are now free to marry.
