As seen in Green Lantern: Lost Army (2015 series), the Green Lantern Corps (except for Hal Jordan) is trapped in the universe that existed before ours, and that universe is dying. While trying to find additional lost members of the Corps, they encounter the Last City, which has survivors of thousands of dead worlds, and its guardians, Dismas and Ausras. The Corps agree to work with Dismas and Ausras to find a way to escape the dying universe and save themselves and the Last City. However, someone does not want the Green Lanterns involvement, and murders one of the Lanterns.
