As suspicion swirls and the police are called, Hap must prove the package isn't dangerous—while also clearing his name when Oliver accuses him of theft.

Hap Hazard and his friends set out on a romantic boat ride, only to find themselves stranded and broke after overspending on tickets and meals. As rain pours down, they scramble to get home, leading to a series of mishaps and a surprising twist involving a rival suitor and a secret identity.

Hap Hazard, down to his last dollar and desperate to keep a date with Judy, enters a contest to win twenty-five bucks by tapping a reporter on the shoulder with a full copy of the Gazette. After a series of mistaken identities—including a wild chase with a prizefighter and a sticky encounter with a fish market—he finally finds the real reporter, only to learn too late that his partial newspaper tap doesn’t count.

When a sudden storm floods the town, Hap Hazard races to check on his friend Zip and Zip’s eccentric uncle Ethelbert, only to find the uncle stubbornly trying to mow the lawn despite the rising water—still wearing his derby hat, which keeps drifting in a strange square pattern. Hap is baffled by the hat’s odd movement, but the real mystery is how Ethelbert managed to stay dry and calm in the middle of the chaos.
