“Conflict Resolution”

In "Conflict Resolution," Peter Bagge delivers another sharp, character-driven installment of *Hate* as Jay pushes Buddy to join him in the collectibles game during a cross-country road trip. The tension builds as personal histories surface—especially when Lisa’s conversation with Buddy’s mom takes an unexpected turn—before the crew hits Seattle and dives into the grunge scene, meeting Tad Doyle and testing the limits of friendship and ambition. With Peter Bagge handling both art and letters, and Jim Blanchard, Mary Woodring, and Rebecca Bowen adding depth through inks and colors, the issue captures the raw, awkward energy of youth and miscommunication. The cover, also by Bagge, perfectly encapsulates the story’s mix of irony and intensity.
