☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAn anthology containing at least two stories: "The Driver" depicts a skeletal chauffeur ferrying passengers to their doom with no stops and free passage, while a second story follows a man named Leroy who becomes obsessively infatuated with a mysterious woman who appeared in photographs from a party he attended. After an advertisement publicizes his search for the unknown girl, Leroy pursues her relentlessly in his car through a stormy night, convinced she is the woman of his dreams, only to discover he cannot catch her no matter how fast he drives.
Hollywood's most self-absorbed leading man, Larry Leroy, becomes obsessed with finding a mysterious woman who appears in a photograph from a party he attended—a girl no one else can identify and who seems to have vanished without a trace. As his desperation grows and his career crumbles, he'll finally track her down in his own hotel, only to discover that this encounter is far stranger and more sinister than he ever imagined. This 1954 tale of vanity, obsession, and supernatural reckoning proves that some rendezvous were never meant to be kept.
In "Death Do Us Part," a diamond prospector survives a fall only to be rescued and cared for by a fiercely protective female baboon. Though he eventually escapes and returns to his wife, the creature follows him home, driven by a bond that blurs the line between devotion and danger. The story unfolds with a creeping tension as the baboon’s obsession threatens to consume everything he’s tried to reclaim.
