After reconciliation, Lon's father approves of Dorothy and arranges for Lon to take an interest in her, declaring his intention to make her his wife. A second story depicts Mary's long-standing unrequited love for Jack, which eventually leads to a complex romantic entanglement involving Jack, his friend Don, and Don's date Jill, culminating in Mary finally kissing Jack under the mistletoe at a pre-graduation house party.
