Heroes in Crisis: The Price and Other Stories #[nn]
In "Too Many Speedsters," Gotham Girl’s desperate bid to become a true hero by embracing the Venom compound spirals out of control, forcing Batman and Flash to confront not just her unraveling mind, but their own burdens—Batman haunted by past failures, Flash tormented by the ghosts of Wally and other lost heroes. As the battle ends, tensions rise between Barry and Iris, and Batman turns to Superman in search of answers, hinting at a deeper conspiracy beneath the chaos. Written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Rafa Sandoval with inks by Jordi Tarragona, colors by Tomeu Morey, and letters by Steve Wands, this story captures the emotional weight of heroism and the cost of power, all framed by a cover by Neal Adams, Rafa Sandoval, and Guillem March.

Trying to be a true hero, Gotham Girl has injected herself with the Venom compound to become more powerful, but it drives her mad and Batman and Flash must stop her. Both feel that they must save her, Batman because he feels he that he has failed Gotham Girl in the past, and Flash because he doesn't want another young hero to die on his account like Wally. After the battle, Iris believes Batman and Flash are endangering young heroes like Wally and Claire, and decides she needs time apart from Barry. Meanwhile, Batman asks Superman for help in investigating a conspiracy.
