Heroes in Crisis: The Price and Other Stories #[nn]
In "Too Many Speedsters," Gotham Girl’s desperate bid to become a true hero backfires when the Venom compound overwhelms her, plunging her into madness. Batman and Flash, each haunted by past failures—Batman over his perceived shortcomings with Gotham Girl, Flash over Wally’s death—rally to stop her, their shared guilt fueling a tense, emotional race against time. As the dust settles, Iris grapples with Barry’s recklessness, choosing to step back, while Batman turns to Superman, hinting at a deeper conspiracy brewing beneath the surface. Written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Rafa Sandoval with inks by Jordi Tarragona, colors by Tomeu Morey, and letters by Steve Wands, the issue’s cover by Guillem March captures the storm of speed and strain.

Trying to be a true hero, Gotham Girl has injected herself with the Venom compound to become more powerful, but it drives her mad and Batman and Flash must stop her. Both feel that they must save her, Batman because he feels he that he has failed Gotham Girl in the past, and Flash because he doesn't want another young hero to die on his account like Wally. After the battle, Iris believes Batman and Flash are endangering young heroes like Wally and Claire, and decides she needs time apart from Barry. Meanwhile, Batman asks Superman for help in investigating a conspiracy.
