Tommy, a young dog from Jive Junction, enters a five-mile swimming contest to prove himself—despite being a terrible swimmer—while his friend Square, a nervous but loyal companion, volunteers to help. When Tommy’s plan to use an outboard motor backfires, Square unexpectedly ends up in the race, relying on the motor and a rope to make it across the water, all while pretending to swim.

A young woman arrives at a dog laundry with her stiff, motionless dog, Rinaldo, demanding a full grooming for the Tailwaggers' Society's pointing contest. The staff, having accidentally soaked the dog in starch instead of soap, scrambles to deliver him on time—only to be met with outrage when he arrives rock-solid.

In a playful twist on the classic myth, a boy named Bertie dreams of having the golden touch after hearing the tale of King Midas, only to learn the hard way that turning everything to gold isn’t as magical as it seems. When the story’s real King Midas appears in person, he shares his own tale of unintended consequences—discovering that his wish to turn things to gold backfired in the most literal way. Bertie, inspired by the unlikely ending, decides to save his pennies instead, determined to buy the bike he wants the old-fashioned way.

In "Raisin' the Roof," Square, a young man with a roof full of holes from a chemistry mishap, is desperate to save his beloved pigeons from leaving. With help from his friends, he tries a series of increasingly absurd schemes—ranging from stunts to a raffle—to raise money for a new roof, all while dodging chaos and questionable advice.
