“Hidden Heartbreak”

In "Hidden Heartbreak," Kathie Thomas finds herself caught between loyalty and love when her new role as personal secretary to fashion buyer Patricia Harlow brings her into the orbit of Walt Corby, a struggling dress manufacturer. As Kathie secretly helps Walt rebuild his career, her growing feelings for him collide with the fragile trust between Pat and Walt. Al Avison’s expressive art brings the emotional tension to life, while Joe Rosen’s lettering underscores the quiet drama of a moment that could change everything. The cover, also by Avison, captures the story’s bittersweet mood in a single, poignant image.

Kathie Thomas thought that her dreams had come true when she was hired as the personal secretary for Patricia Harlow, one of the top dress buyers in the city. Not long after she started, she met Walt Corby, a dress manufacturer who was dating Pat. But when Corby's business hit the rocks, Walt became persona non grata for Pat. Kathie decides to help Walt around the office, then passes on an idea of Pat's to Walt that turns his business around. When Pat invites Walt to dinner to "make up", Kathie can't resist telling Walt that Pat's a liar and a cheat and that she has fallen in love with him.
