No Kick Coming!
1 pp · Humor

Hopalong Cassidy and Hill Billy share a lighthearted moment when the postman delivers a new mule, which Hill Billy claims is mean-looking—but it’s the mule’s habit of kicking the spot where Hill Billy once stood that proves the real trouble. The humor lies in the mule’s surprising lack of interest in kicking Hill Billy, instead targeting the ground he’s just vacated.

In Twin River, Sheriff Hopalong Cassidy investigates a series of saddle failures that send the mayor tumbling from his horse, suspecting sabotage. When a rival saddle-maker, Swanson, is targeted by an angry mob, Hopalong uncovers a plot by Stitch, the original saddle-maker, who sabotaged Swanson’s saddles to eliminate competition. As Hopalong races to stop Stitch’s escape, he finds himself on a bareback chase—only to discover Stitch’s own sabotage has left him stranded.

When a famed guide vanishes, Hopalong Cassidy is called to lead a search through treacherous mountain terrain, only to find himself journeying with the missing man’s wife and a mysterious stranger with a hidden agenda.
