The White Rider, a mysterious outlaw, kidnaps Rancher Turnbull and eludes a posse by fleeing into the Twin River Mountains. Hopalong Cassidy, determined to bring him to justice, tracks him on foot and narrowly misses him after a dramatic river jump, then orders a search of the riverbed to confirm if the rider drowned. As the sheriff, he begins investigating suspects in town, including Carl La Marr and Dodd Wesley, who each receive a surprising visit from the man they believe to be the dead outlaw.

Whitey Whiskers agrees to fill Farmer Scott’s woodshed with kindling in exchange for two dollars, but quickly grows frustrated by the hard work. He devises a clever trick to make it look like the shed is full, only to be caught when Farmer Scott discovers the ruse—and the shed is nearly empty.
