Hill Billy, a man known for his laziness, finds himself unable to fetch milk after his dog dies, leaving him without a helper. A hungry stranger stops by and asks for food, only to be surprised by Hill Billy’s claim that he hasn’t had milk since his dog passed away.
Whitey Whiskers tricks Daniel Boone Jr. into cleaning Farmer Jones’s chimney for fifty cents, pretending he’ll keep the rest of the promised two and a half dollars. As Daniel climbs in, Whitey’s scheme unravels when a sneeze causes him to lose his grip, sending Daniel tumbling down the chimney—leading to a sticky situation when Whitey gets stuck himself.
Pattie and Burly Berlie exchange tense glances after a past confrontation, with Berlie making an exaggerated face at her. Pattie, momentarily unsure, considers apologizing for her earlier actions, then tries to play it off with a nervous joke—only to be met with a surprising, almost amused response.
