"The Sea Ghost" tells of Ben Pickett, adopted son of fishing fleet master Ezra Pickett, who discovers that the man who raised him is not his true father—a revelation that transforms Ben into a vengeful specter. The other stories visible include supernatural encounters and ghostly manifestations designed to chill readers with tales of spirits and otherworldly horror.
Mike Morrison, a famed television commentator, spins a tale of a subway monster for his daughter and her fiancé, only to see his joke spiral into mass hysteria as the public begins to believe. As panic spreads and the city descends into chaos, Mike decides to confront the myth head-on—venturing into the very tunnels he claimed the monster inhabited, unaware that his own words have birthed something real.
In the eerie tale "The Sea Ghost," Ben Pickett, the adopted son of fishing fleet master Ezra Pickett, is betrayed and murdered by his half-brother Caleb on the eve of their 21st birthday, when Caleb drowns him to claim sole ownership of the fleet. Haunted by guilt and terror, Caleb begins to hear the sound of wet sea-boots walking at night, convinced the drowned Ben is returning for vengeance—though the townspeople wonder if the weight of his crime is driving him mad.
A young man and his wife survive a shipwreck, adrift at sea with a mysterious stranger named Lance Bloodman who claims to be a friend. As their isolation stretches on, the man begins to feel increasingly weak, only to discover that Lance is a vampire—and that he has been slowly draining him. Now haunted by an insatiable thirst he can no longer deny, the man must confront the horrifying truth that he, too, has become what he once feared.
The Deadliest Witch A young surveyor named Bill Bennett ventures into a remote mountain region known as the domain of a wicked witch and her daughters, defying local warnings of witchcraft and cannibalism. After picking up a hitchhiker named Ellie, who claims not to fear the witches, Bill is drawn into a seemingly welcoming but increasingly unsettling encounter at her isolated home. As the evening unfolds, eerie tension builds between Bill and Ellie, whose calm demeanor hides a dangerous secret.
