I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League #[nn]
In "This Guy… This— Gardner!", the Justice League finds themselves unexpectedly stranded in a bizarre, bureaucratic version of Hell where the afterlife is less about fire and brimstone and more about bad service and existential dread. With Beatriz struggling with cell reception, Mary cut off from her powers, and Booster’s endless apologies falling on deaf ears, the team grapples with their own beliefs while trying to survive a shift at a fast-food joint—until Guy Gardner, back in full ring-powered form, and Power Girl launch a rescue mission. Cover by Kevin Maguire and Joe Rubinstein, this 2006 DC issue features a sharp, surreal take on the team’s dynamics, with writer Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis delivering a story where even the underworld has a lunch rush.

The heroes find that Hell means many things to different members: Beatriz gets lousy cell-phone service, Mary can't access her powers, Booster apologizes profusely for getting them all into this mess but no one cares, Ted is harsh and Ralph is thinking about his unborn children. Discussions of God and the hereafter also abound. Guy uses the artifact to send himself and Power Girl to the rescue, where he reveals that he has his ring power back. As the heroes start working in the fast-food restaurant in Hell, Beatriz notices one of the customers is Ice.
