This October 1993 promotional offering from Image Comics puts Vanguard front and center — the blue-suited, red-gauntleted alien powerhouse surges toward the viewer with fists raised, Earth gleaming behind him and a spacecraft erupting in fiery yellow bursts in the deep space background. The cover tagline says it all: "A Strange Visitor From Another Planet Is Back," promising cosmic adventure on a grand scale. Best of all, this inside look at Image's expanding universe came absolutely free.
