Mary works as a waitress to support her younger brother Mike. Her pilot fiancé Fred and parents were killed in a plane crash a few years before, and Mary dislikes airplanes as a result. Pilot Dan Engel defends Mary from a lustful diner patron and they eventually fall in love. However, Mary constantly fears Dan will die in a crash and they break up as a result. When Mike falls ill, only Dan’s aviation expertise can deliver the medicine he needs to recover. Mary and Dan reconcile and she no longer fears and hates flying.
