“... A Man's Home Is His Battlefield!”

In "… A Man's Home Is His Battlefield!", Iron Man faces off against a wave of super-powered henchmen sent by Justin Hammer, while Rhodey arrives with the Monaco police to help turn the tide. Despite a legal victory, Tony Stark is left isolated and broken, drowning his guilt in drink—until a desperate need for redemption forces him to confront Hammer head-on. Written by Bob Layton and David Michelinie, with art by Layton and John Romita Jr., this 1979 issue captures Stark at his lowest, with Bob Layton’s cover pencils and inks sealing the mood of a man at war with himself.
