“Goliath! The Monster That.. ...Walked Like a Man!”

In *Journey into Mystery* #63, a humble man discovers a mysterious doll in a field and gives it to his daughter, Jo, who’s unable to walk. What he doesn’t know is that the doll is no ordinary toy—it’s an alien child, lost and alone, who can move and speak, and who’s been exploring Earth without his parents’ knowledge. When the child’s parents finally arrive, they thank Jo for her kindness, cure her leg, and leave behind a gold bar as a token of gratitude. Written by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber, with dynamic art by Jack Kirby and inks by George Klein, this touching tale blends wonder and quiet magic, all brought to life with vibrant colors by Stan Goldberg and sharp lettering by Ray Holloway. The cover, a striking collaboration between Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, captures the story’s eerie yet heartfelt tone.

A poor man finds a doll in the field and gives it to his lame daughter. What he doesn't know is that the doll actually moves and talks. When he's gone the doll asks the girl for food as the "doll" is really an alien child that's gone off exploring other planets without his parents' supervision. When his parents do arrive, he asks the father to reward the girl for her kindness and he cures her leg and leaves behind a gold bar.
