JSA #22
In "Lost Friends," the Justice Society of America grapples with a haunting revelation about Hawkgirl’s identity as the spirit of Shiera Sanders Hall takes hold of her body, while a parallel journey through ancient Egypt reveals the origins of Nth metal and the crash of a Thanagarian ship. Written by David Goyer and Geoff Johns, with dynamic art by Rags Morales and Buzz, and vivid colors by John Kalisz and Heroic Age, this pivotal issue weaves past and present through Flash’s daring mission to retrieve the claw of Horus—just as Hawkgirl vanishes into the skies of Thanagar. The cover, by Michael Bair, captures the moment’s weight in stark, expressive detail.

In the present, the JSA tries to help Hawkgirl deal with the news that Kendra Saunders was actually successful in her last suicide attempt and that the spirit of Shiera Sanders Hall now inhabits her body. In the past, Flash learns how a Thanagarian ship crashed in ancient Egypt, bringing with it the secrets of Nth metal. Borrowing Teth-Adam's speed, Flash returns to the present with the claw of Horus, just after Hawkgirl has been transported away to Thanagar.
