Jughead's Double Digest #11

Apr 1992 · Archie · 2.50 USD
“Future Features”

In "Future Features," Jughead's latest theory—sparked by a TV psychiatrist—claims his obsession with food is a stand-in for romantic feelings, leaving Archie skeptical. But when Archie hits a wall with his own love life, he surprisingly agrees to swap crushes for hamburgers, leading to a surprisingly heartfelt (and delicious) experiment. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Dan DeCarlo with inks by Rudy Lapick and letters by Vincent DeCarlo, the issue's cover by Dan DeCarlo and Alison Flood captures the absurdity perfectly.

After watching a psychiatrist on TV, Jughead realizes that his love of food is just a substitute for the emotional energy other boys put into loving girls. Archie thinks the theory is ridiculous, but when he realizes how screwed up his love life is, he decides to join Jughead in loving hamburgers instead.
