“Showdown”

In "Showdown," Justice is sent to Duncanville, Texas, to investigate Dennis Foley, a former convict with a paranormal past. As a mob prepares to lynch him, Foley and Tensen devise a daring plan that turns the townspeople’s hatred into awe—only to leave Tensen reeling from a sudden, painful psychic shock when Psi-Hawk is destroyed, a blow that echoes from a battle far away in Washington, D.C. Written by Peter David and illustrated by Mike Gustovich, with colors by Janet Jackson and letters by James Novak, the cover by Lee Weeks captures the tension of the moment.

The N.S.C. sends Justice to Duncanville, Texas, to investigate a paranormal ex-con, Dennis Foley. As the mob prepares to lynch Foley for his former crimes, Tensen and he make a plan whereby Foley comes to be seen as a hero by fighting Justice off when he seemingly tries to convince Foley to destroy the town. After the battle, Tensen feels great psychic pain when Rodstvow destroys Psi-Hawk, not fully realizing that Angela was nearly crushed while the two paranormals fought in the Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
