Justice Society of America #48
In "Supertown, Part Five," the Justice Society of America faces a chilling escalation as Obsidian ignores Flash's warning and confronts Scythe in his cell, only to be overpowered. With Scythe now free and moving toward Dr. Mid-Nite, Wildcat, and Flash, who are locked in battle with Dr. Chaos, the team must react fast—Flash attempts to contain the threat by moving Scythe away from the city. As Chaos taunts the JSA, claiming they're falling into his trap, a new revelation uncovers the true mastermind behind the chaos, though their motive remains shrouded in mystery. Written by Marc Guggenheim and illustrated by Scott Kolins—with inks, colors by Mike Atiyeh, and letters by Rob Leigh—this pivotal issue delivers tension and intrigue, with Kolins' dynamic art shaping every moment, from the cover by Kolins himself.

Obsidian refuses to heed Flash's warning and enters Scythe's cell. The villain overcomes Obsidian and heads to where Dr. Mid-Nite, Wildcat, and Flash are dealing with Dr. Chaos. Flash moves Scythe away from the city, while Chaos gloats how the JSA is falling right into his trap, though he may not have counted on the JSA having back-up. Meanwhile, the real mastermind behind the plot is revealed, though not his still mysterious motivation.
