An anthology of crime case stories adapted from true police and FBI cases. "Closeups" follows Detective Pete Varney, who catches a street cleaner named Jerry in a hit-and-run after finding a car door handle the suspect dropped. "Ignorance Was Bliss" centers on Sheriff George Marlow investigating the murder of Bob Allen, only to discover that Allen's fiancée Maude Bakewell—who cannot read or write—was actually responsible. Additional shorter cases presented include "Turkish Bath," about a prisoner who escapes by crawling through a grime-filled sewage system; "In a Hurry," involving a con artist named Joe Rabe; and "Bullet Prints," describing a new forensic technique using bullet markings for crime detection.
