Lash LaRue and the Sheriff work together to solve a bank robbery that occurred in Leadville. After identifying themselves and combining their investigative efforts, they discover that a stranger had planted a marked bill on the first stringer to commit the crime, allowing them to track the culprit. When the Sheriff learns that LaRue had planned to observe the crime scene without being spotted, LaRue explains that a calendar reminder about his Aunt Hester's birthday has inadvertently led to this fortuitous greeting.
