Le Jeune Archie #52
In "Le chien sans nom," Bob Bolling crafts a quiet, heartfelt moment in the lives of Sue Stringly and Veronica as the girls confront a small but urgent mystery: the injured ducks circling the old water tower. When Sue’s wish for a light to guide them takes on new urgency, the two set out on a moonlit climb, armed only with a flashlight and their determination. With Bolling’s gentle storytelling and Barry Grossman’s warm colors, this issue captures a tender act of kindness in a world that often overlooks the quietest needs. Dexter Taylor’s cover captures the moment’s quiet drama with a striking, atmospheric image.

When the children are asked to write about the one thing they want for Christmas, Sue Stringly writes that all she wants is a light on the old water tower. She explains to Veronica that ducks keep flying into the water tower and getting hurt, and that she's been tending to the injuries of the fallen ducks. When another duck goes down while Ronnie is visiting, Sue gets angry, and the two girls climb to the top of the tower with a flashlight, which Sue uses to warn the ducks.
