Legends 30th Anniversary Edition #[nn]
In the 30th Anniversary Edition of *Legends*, a climactic showdown unfolds in Washington, D.C., as Glorious Godfrey leads a frenzied mob against the heroes. With Robin (Jason Todd) stepping in to protect young children, the tide turns when Godfrey’s aggression awakens the mob against him—only for him to unleash warhounds in retaliation. The heroes hold the line, but it’s the stolen helmet of Fate that ultimately defeats Godfrey when he tries to claim its power, foiling Darkseid’s grand design. Written by John Ostrander and Len Wein, with dynamic art by John Byrne and inks by Karl Kesel and Dennis Janke, this story captures the legacy of the DC Universe in a moment of high stakes and unexpected heroism. The cover, also by John Byrne, perfectly frames the chaos and resolve of the moment.

As Glorious Godfrey unleashes a final assault versus the heroes in Washington, D.C. with a frenzied mob, they are stopped thanks to Robin (Jason Todd) appearing with young children, forming a human shield around the heroes. Godfrey slaps a child who refuses to move out of the mob's way, which then awakens the mob, and turns them versus him. He retaliates using warhounds to attack everyone, with the heroes defending them successfully, but he steals Fate's helmet, and is defeated by it when he attempts to use its powers for his own purposes as he puts it on. Darkseid's plan fails.
