Li'l Genius features two separate comic stories. In the first story, a boy with a rifle tries to shoot dynamite but Li'l Genius cleverly convinces him to aim elsewhere, causing the dynamite to explode safely before the boy daydreams of a quieter adventure next time. In the second story, Li'l Genius encounters a neighbor woman and her husband on the property, then charms Mrs. Van Tenspot into buying party supplies and whistles by praising her, before receiving a hand-buzzer handshake that causes a comical mishap when she jumps from the shock.
