Life with Archie #116
In "Feast or Famine," Archie and Jughead find themselves on the wrong side of the law after running a red light, only to be searched by officers who seem overly suspicious. Their complaints about police overreach take a sharp turn when they witness a shocking incident: a young robber shoots a cop trying to stop a candy store heist. The moment hits hard—what seemed like an unjust stop now feels like a sobering reminder of how easily public service is taken for granted. With art by Bob Bolling and a cover by Dan DeCarlo, this 1971 issue offers a rare, thoughtful look at duty and perspective in Riverdale.

Archie and Jughead are pulled over by a police officer for running through a flashing red light. Two officers search Archie's car for drugs. Jughead and Archie then complain about how the officers treated them, police brutality, etc. They then see an ambulance and a large crowd, and find that a kid tried to rob a candy store and a policeman walked in and got shot trying to stop the robbery. Archie and Jughead feel bad for complaining about having their car searched earlier. They realize the cops were just doing their jobs and people tend to take policemen for granted.
