Little Eva and her friend Susie accidentally send Eva’s ball through a hole in Mrs. Sanders’ fence, leading to a series of mishaps when Susie’s fishing rod and their dog Nipper also end up on the other side. As they scramble to retrieve the rod and free Nipper, their antics draw the attention of Officer Sanders, who arrives just as they’re trying to escape—only to discover the whole situation was a harmless misunderstanding.

Nipper and Hot-Rod launch a playful spy hunt after Nipper claims to be "counter-spying," following a suspicious man who seems to be passing notes at a cigar store. As they track the man, they misinterpret innocent actions—like a clerk waving to a cop—as secret spy signals, leading to a series of exaggerated, comedic misunderstandings. The story ends with the boys convinced they’ve foiled a spy ring, though the real resolution is far more mundane.

Little Eva sets out to find the Weather Man to learn if her picnic will be sunny or rainy, only to discover he’s not in his office but on a rooftop rocket ship with a young boy. Together, they journey through whimsical locations like Twinkle Star Lane and the Milky Way, where they gather stars and moon cheese, before encountering the grumpy Weather Control Man, who’s in a bad mood after being hit with milk bottles.

Eva tries to plant tomato seeds, only to be startled by a mouse that dashes into the kitchen. She races to get a trap, but her conscience tugs at her when she realizes the mouse might be in danger, leading to a tense moment where she must decide how to help.

Eva tries to get rid of the many stray dogs she’s taken in by tricking them into following her on a wild adventure to a city dump, but the dogs end up enjoying the journey so much they don’t want to leave. When they return to her yard, she realizes they’re still there—and decides to turn her backyard into a proper dog hotel instead.
